Barbara Hunter, our local Scholastic Representative, gave her all for Read and Romp. She helped RORSD obtain the books, for centerpieces, from Scholastic, the tote bags for each child, and last but not least- supplied the Clifford costume! Thank you for all your efforts and hard work at Read and Romp!

| Need a Tax Deductible Donation? |
|
The AAP-CA3, a non-profit 501(c)3 is able to accept book money for sites and provide a tax deductible receipt. Sites that do not have this non-profit status can have donors send a check to the AAP- CA3 indicating that this money should be set aside for a particular site. After purchasing books sites can send us an invoice which we will deduct from their account. Or sites can participate in bulk book buying with the collaborative and use the money in their account. There is no charge to sites for this service.

Read and Romp
A Huge Success!
Click here to view photos from
Read and Romp. Thank you to all our volunteers,
sponsors, and donors
for making our first Read and Romp a huge success!
Adam Schomer entertained and Steve Lipinsky read
while Thing 1 and Thing 2 performed their antics. The
French Gourmet provided a delicious breakfast that
included chocolate croissants! Don't forget the
excitement that Clifford and the giant rainbow jumper
brought to all the children. Most importantly, every
child went home with 2 new books.
Besides reaching our goal of raising almost $10,000
many great connections were made at Read and
Romp and we raised community awareness. We
expect this to be an annual event and welcome any
feedback or ideas for next year. Email them to tmilbrand@aapc
a3.org.

RORSD Patners with California College San Diego
RORSD is proud to partner with California College
San Diego to promote literacy and help make books
part of a healthy childhood! To show their support,
they sponsored a table at Read and Romp and plan
to continue their support through book donations and
volunteer placement. Future plans include
purchasing new books for local ROR sites, an annual
book drive on campus for students and staff to donate
new and lightly used books, and volunteer
recruitment.
California College San Diego offers several fully
accredited degrees in healthcare and other subjects-
serving San Diego since 1978. They develop many
exceptional students and graduates who are available
for volunteering, externships, or full time
employment. California College San Diego also
seeks continuous improvement and invites healthcare
professionals to participate in the Program Advisory
Committee to help mold future programs.
